A house on a hill used to get flooded as runoff from higher elevations poured into the basement. A natural-looking stone swale directed runoff into the creek bed, through a sedge meadow (for managing sediment), down a rock outcropping waterfall, along a flagstone stepper streambed, terminating in a large rain garden.
